ABOUT ME
Trusting another with our innermost thoughts, feelings, wishes and fears is a big decision which takes a lot of courage. I see it as a privilege, not a given, to be invited into my client’s world. I have a strong sense of integrity and view the therapeutic relationship as an equal endeavour for both of us to find out what is helpful to you.
I am a professionally qualified Gestalt psychotherapist and psychotherapeutic counsellor and originially trained with the Metanoia Institute, London. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
WHAT TO EXPECT
My first aim as a counsellor is to create a space where you feel safe, understood and not judged. I am interested to hear how you are experiencing life in the here and now and what you believe is holding you back. We will explore these themes together in dialogue where I will meet you with openness and authenticity.
Every person is unique and sometimes it can be helpful to look at things from a different perspective. I might suggest more creative ways to explore your experience, for example through drawing or using movement.
Seeing a counsellor can sometimes bring up painful feelings and memories. I wish to support you in this process with warmth and respect.
